Owning a Longines? Hardly a down side. 😉
I am only ribbing you of course.

Ah, for the good old days when you could just email customer service and John or Mary would send you the information for free.

So, rather than take my Speedmaster to the local boutique and potentially get bad info from them as well, I have a watch friend up in Canadia who will order the extract for me. It was either him or a friend in Uganda who has sporadic electricity and sporadic internet.

I could use a watch friend in Canadia as well. I've just sent a PDF today, but I'm 1 for 5 via that route. Most just disappear into the ether

Are they describing '68 Speedmaster 321 as "Moonwatch" now? I know the 321 is the one that actually did go to the moon so has more right to be called a moonwatch than any 861 - But I thought that Omega only introduced the "Moonwatch" name for models released 'post' landing? (Not looking for an argument - I'm truly curious)

What is the price of an extract?

Is not shown on the omega website... does it depend on the serial you input?

Thanks

you can get them in the US. You just have to do it via an OB.

Omega was not allowed to do business or sell things in the US over the internet. The official line was due to a copyright issue they could not legeally do it. Some felt it might have been due to resellers agreements with AD’s.

About 2-3 years ago Omega started selling over the internet in the US. But the extract process was never opened up to the US via the internet. Only via an OB. It has nothing to do with postage. It is either now due to no one telling the web team, or they want to reduce the volume of requests by putting a barrier on US requests.

that’s the issue though. He local Boutiki told me the museum was closed and I could do it online. Obviously they haven’t a clue. I didn’t even think to use Canada, my home and native land. That’s a bad joke, but that’s what I’ll do

Yes, order through Canada. My co-conspirator in Canada ordered an extract for my other Speedmaster on Friday and I received it this morning (Monday). Either the staff at the Omega archives are working long hours on the weekends, or they have an affinity for Canadians.
