Breitling 817 which was introduced in 1975, as a tool watch expressly designed for military use. Commissioned by the Italian Army, the watches were given to helicopter pilots, bearing many of the classic hallmarks typically associated with military pilot’s wristwatches.

Nice. Do you know if this was part of the 2nd "discovered" batch?

I have a few.., wearing my Auricoste Type 20 this morning. French-issued circa 1954 and in service through the mid-80's

And the caseback proves it, LOVE the History.....and the Watch.

Many thanks, despite the determination to reduce the numbers when this one came up it was as quick as I could hit the keyboard and fortunately it was still available 😀

They are a keeper for sure. I bought a 6B, justifying it to myself by thinking that I would sell my W10 to cover most of the cost.....obviously, I have just ended up with both as I can't bring myself to let the W10 go, particularly after having it so long. Bloody SmithS.....👍

There is a list recording the serial numbers of the GS De Luxe over on MWR Maanu, as there are so few. Is yours on the list do you know? Lovely radium dial that.

Thanks for pointing it out. yes, found it with the image of the caseback too. Can’t believe there are around 30 pieces listed for UK.
