I was VERY selective about the only moonphase / calendar watch I ever owned. I looked at quite a few brands, even JLC with the NYC crew (LouS, Wetworks, David whose screen name here I forget, etc) at the Timekeepers Show a few years back. The one I finally settled on was the Chronoswiss.
....and of course I ended up selling it because that's what I do. 馃う It's one of the few I wouldn't mind having back.
some of my cheap collection
eta 1100, valjoux 78, 89,90 , venus 203, 206,
buren 382, 383, pierce 103, record 107c, cortebert 677, AS1250, movado 473,475...
I've recently fallen for vintage TDMs too. Movement-wise I'm after a self-winding Felsa Bidynator cal. 693. They came in several jewel counts from 17 through 25. They can be found in several brands but I gravitate toward the Breitlings and the Vulcains, though the Breitlings seem to be pricey.
I recently bought this Hyde Park manual TDM for my mom. I don't know much about it but I love the numerals.
Not a chrono, but... This Trematic TDMP was sometimes branded "Keystone." Most of the examples on the market are NOS or nearly so. I don't know if these watches were ever marketed... I suspect someone came across a cache of unsold watches in a warehouse somewhere. Stainless steel, 37mm. Felsa Bidynator cal 693. Can sometimes be had around $500.
I'd love to see a close-up of the triple-date, thin rose-gold bezeled one, second one from left in the top row...馃グ
sometimes you may have luck to search the treasure in ebay, and all the good stuff is by chance!
i bought three Movado with 2 years, the left one cost around US350, the right Tiffany Movado is about the same, what the hell the middle one, all original included the strap and buckle just for 800 euro, all come in excellent conditions and original dial!
Oh, now I see, it's the Movado you posted here:
ok no problem, but it is no moonphase, just triple date, using cal.475.
