I bought this for the stated price. As you say, there were numerous interested parties but I paid up there and then and, all being well, the watch should arrive on Monday. I'll be sending it to Simon Freese (ex STS) for an inspection and service.

As with all these things, there was only time to do a little bit of checking but the buyer has a good profile on watchuseek, he emailed me promptly and we had a chat on the phone. Seemed like a genuine guy who had several nice Omega watches.
Well Done! Hope it arrives safely and is everything it appears to be! Did he say anything about the markings on the case back?

Not at the moment thanks. But there are some lovely ones about and the hunt is part of the fun.
Totally agree. I'm like a searching maniac. Will make the prize all the more better

One chapter in a nasty divorce settlement? Must sell watch and turn over its value to the ex?

Congrats to the buyer. I personally would not have taken the dive suspecting a scam.
Great watch indeed

Wow, great investigative work. Well good luck to the seller, score of the year and now the watch is being offered at a very fair market price.

Agreed!

Not intended to "out" or deride the seller, he got a got deal, he got the watch serviced, he's offering it to the market... in his shoes I think I'd have done the same tbh - thought someone here might want to take it off his hands... knowing how many Speedmaster lovers we have 馃槈

It can't be easy viewing for the earlier seller, also through WUS, to see the 拢10K he left on the table as part of the deal reappear in someone else's possession. I personally may have had the tact to sell it elsewhere, at auction for instance but as noted above, the current seller has done nothing wrong. He would be crucified on TZ though if he bought and sold like that through their Sales Corner as the poor sod who bought a 3570 for 拢1,050 recently discovered when he tried to shift it at a more reasonable rate.

I can't sell it here, sadly, as I don't have the required number of posts. I also agree with the point re. TZ-UK. I don't think they'd like it there as there is a curious 'unwritten' rule about sales. I've thought about eBay where I have a good profile (jonathanpjsavage) but it is always a bit hit and miss with bigger ticket items in my opinion. However, I might give it a go if watchuseek doesn't turn up a buyer. If it does sell, I'll be supporting a music education charity with the proceeds; if it doesn't, I will keep it, wear it and enjoy it.

If you've got a good selling history somewhere that you can prove, and message the mods here, they might let you post 馃憤

That said, I'm sure interested parties will drop you a line 馃榾

?????

That's his target upon selling the Speedy per the WUS listing.

Beyond jealous reading this thread. I thought I had an almost too good to be true snag on WUS in January, but this one takes the cake.
