Now I will admit I have minimal knowledge of vintage speedmasters and have only started reading up on speedmaster101.com. That being said, I spotted what looked like a screaming deal on watchuseek this morning (it is now sold). Am I being a complete noob here, or did we all really miss this?

    Some details from the listing:
This watch is one of the early ones with the cal. 321 movement, original stepped dial with applied logo and original hands. The case back reference 105.003-65. The Movement serial no is 2500XXXX. Price £1100 GBP.

My guess is the seller made a mistake on the listing price and forgot to add a zero, something they probably caught when the multiple buyers contacted them within minutes/seconds. They seem to know what they have, so I doubt that was the price it sold for.

I have alerts on my phone because I desperately want a pre 74 speedy (also my first speedy) and this seemed way off to me so I didn't bother. If it did go for that, good for the buyer!!!

Obviously it has issues but if it arrives for that price, then well done. I'm not sure it will though.

    How did you pay?

If PP standard doesn't he have some cover? Something is very wrong at that price. Hacked account perhaps.

Among other possibilities, I am entertaining this edge-case thought, although quite dramatic:

Seller's account is compromised on Watchuseek. Scammer lists 'watch' at crazily to good to be true price. Posts that it was sold to an appropriately obfuscated 'JS'. Sets up a new account here as JPJSavage to post as the buyer to say that it was sold at the listed too good to be true price. What happens next? Compromised account on Watchuseek carries on 'selling' too good to be true priced watches to unwitting people who think this is legit based on JPJSavage confirmation. Until shut down.

Either that or it's a joke.

I'm with you on his WS profile looking legit - he's been around a while.

Congrats on a frankly, amazing deal.

Feel free to check my account at TZ: jpjsavage. A few year ago I picked up a 145.012 from 1967 in Chester. I should have kept that but didn't. I've been promised the watch for Monday so will update the thread then. I've been a long term 'lurker' here but have learnt a lot (thanks) and have a lovely 1969 pre-moon Speedmaster (birth year) that is worn regularly. But on a sunny day like today, it's the turn of a vintage seiko: IMG_0542.JPG
