Vintage Seamaster - Information/ History for a newbee.

I have just bought this (broken) omega seamaster. I have a few photos and I was hoping for some information and the likely hood if it’s genuine if not.

I have very little knowledge of watches but I’m keen to learn more, I like Omega watches the most. If anyone could recommend some light reading to help me find out more about their history would be appreciated.
