Vintage Pie-Pan help

Hi, y'all sorry to bog down with another pie-pan help thread. But, this is going to be my first vintage watch purchase to help commemorate both a birthday and important transition in life for me.

I've been looking at this constellation pie-pan to hopefully serve as my first omega vintage, looking at the dial and such and advice some of the beginner guides give. But with such a big purchase I thought if possible to get some help.

The watch is being sold for 1495, with an after-market strap. I'll post some pictures below. I asked for service history, which seems to be unknown but supposedly runs good.

I guess my biggest concerns are the legitimacy of the watch, and if needed to be serviced in the future what that would look like. I've alternatively thought of buying with omega enthusiast, but I know that buying a pie-pan would be much more expensive (which isn't me hating, I know he services his watch and is reputable!)

Thanks for any input/help!

Dial is legit, tbh for 1495… (€?$?£?) I‘d want a bit more „condition“. Wrong crown isn’t the biggest issue but the correct example plus a service will bring the cost significantly closer to 2k, which will then leave you with a heavily polished example that seems to have a fat bubble on the dial.

Gold-capped, date doglegs are relatively affordable compared to steel (or solid gold) ones without one, and most of all, doglegs aren’t rare at all, despite what sellers might tell you. There is zero reason to settle for a mediocre example.

To put it differently: You won’t remember the months of hunting and waiting till you find a good example.
You will, however, always remember you bought one that’s not in good shape, as every glance on your wrist will remind you.

The dogleg lugs on this watch have had their facets/edges polished away so the case has now lost it's crispness. I would definitely pass on this watch no matter the price, considering you are purchasing it for a special reason.

In addition to studying what a good dial looks like, have a look at images of other dogleg Constellations to see what a sharp case should look like.

168.005 in stainless steel can be found, being slightly patient, in strong condition for 1500€.

I haven’t been following gold cap closely, but it’s in a similar price range.

As said above, this one is too polished - you can see great examples in this thread. If you cannot discern the edges/facets of the lugs, then it’s too polished.
