Just for the fun of it, I’d put my dollar on this being a ‘69 in the 28.5m - 30.5m range (likely 29.11x.xxx or 29.60x.xxx…?) that’s entirely legit. Please confirm or deny if possible. Then for the sake of getting a better feel of these dials I’d love to see some closer images around the dial edges there it has that sort of halo looks to it.
Yes it is a ‘69 with serial 2963xxx and all original. I’ve noticed the 2963xxx gets left out a lot when considering tropical dials. It’s always 2911 or 2960 that gets all the love? Anyway, good luck with your research, it’s an interesting topic.
This one is mine, and it was baked in SE Asia, primarily Vietnam in the 60s....as well as decades of general abuse and neglect. You can see the degradation of the varnish and the lum. The then owner was definitely not concerned with creating patina. It's a birth year watch. It looks much more like chocolate in less light.
