Wife likes small watches (silver/chrome not gold) and it's been on my honey-do list for a while to find her something suitable.

In this thread https://omegaforums.net/threads/is-this-vintage-omega-the-real-deal.77336/ there are two contenders.

    The RO2908 and the CK2967

What other suggestions might I consider and in your experience how long of a hunt might I be looking at?

    Thanks
    C

I would start on eBay by doing searches for “Vintage Ladies Omega WatchPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network”. You’ll probably get hundreds of listings. Take some time to sort out which styles you like.

Note - do not limit your search to only the two models in the other post. Omega made thousands of different case styles of these watches. Some were made in batches of a few dozen. Some were export models made for countries outside of Switzerland and have their own style numbers.

Another good source is local flea markets and thrift stores. However, this method is likely to take a very long time as you are limited to stock on hand. Also, unless you know how to operate the watch, it’s difficult to tell if it is running properly.

A recommendation — don’t limit your self to Omega. Ladies Hamilton watchesPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network from the 1940’s and 1950’s are great values. You can get something really nice for under $50.

    Good luck with your search.

Sort of like these two,Omega Sapphette models I have collected for Mrs. C. Both in 14 karat white gold cases, faceted synthetic sapphire crystal, manual wind, and aftermarket plated bracelets. Very small by the standards of the day. But she loves them.

My three ladies models, to give you an idea of the range available. These were made within about 5 years of each other.

The constellation is the winner for Mrs C. I think the Seamaster is very interesting.

How about an old Tudor Princess Oysterdate? Bought my wife a '96 a few years back, and she wears it most days. Quite small at 22-23mm (25 inc. crown), but looks lovely on her slim wrist.

She also 'borrows' my old 30T2 from time to time. Obviously bigger at around 33-34mm, but still looks great on her.

pic from the web....bought one like this for Mrs. P last year (ref - 3971)....wears nicely at 28mm across, but she has left it behind for a couple of other "big round" seamasters

Color in the pic is wrong, but this one is very understated, tiny (18mm, got omega's smallest volumetric automatic movement ever), lovely silver dial, AML...

Vintage 511.190...didn't take me that long to find, actually. Got the silver but the seller also had the gold plated version, so I had to unite them:

But they're tiny! 20mm case. Has fancy crystal too.

There are black bezel SM120s that pop up occasionally (31mm) for around $1k, but I've yet to see another orange bezel come up. The Connie is 25mm and similar ones pop up pretty frequently on fleabay

I have this one I bought for my wife, 566.00007. I was told it needs a movement (cal 684) overhaul.. I just haven’t brought myself to do it just yet. Otherwise it’s in really good condition!

If you are interesting in looking beyond Omega, then Eterna also made some great watches in Ladies' sizes, including the cal. 1199 (first automatic with ball-bearing rotor), the original Golden Heart, and smaller versions of the KonTiki:

In a very different style, LeCoultre made some very interesting angular gold-cased ladies watches around mid-century, mostly for the US market (so, dropping the 'Jaeger'). The best-known of these is the 'Grasshopper':

That's lovely and the type of thing that Mrs B likes. Smaller is better in her eyes.

There's a self deprecating joke in there somewhere.

    Heuer Carrera 7753snd

I have been desperately trying to let me trade up for a ug Nina on rare birds but she outright refuses..(and it sold)

To me that is the ultimate ladies vintage watch
