.... or in classic Rocky & Bullwinkle alternate title style: How to make your lady happy and have fun at the same time! Windy wants her own vintage Omega. (surprise! ) I want to buy her one. (primarily to keep her sticky fingers out of my watch box. ) But most of the eBay stuff is overpriced for the lady's watches. I let her do some surfing and she spotted this: Entire listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/35058364120...item51a069d475&autorefresh=true#ht_783wt_1292Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Made an offer of $210 that was rejected immediately by the seller's minimum setting. Tried $225 which went through, only to be rejected via e-mail by the seller. Well, while waiting for the answer I decided to show her a few tricks. We did a search and found this: Entire listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/11091567900...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_500wt_1074Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Yep, that's right - $38 for all new parts less the movement and crown. Now all I gotta do is find a 62x on the swamp and the correct crown from Borel before November when her birthday comes. Bet it costs less than the complete watch even after paying to have it serviced and assembled. ps - Windy does know what a franken is. pps - if any of you gents can help out with the rest of the stuff I've got a few bucks.
No - there are more of these cases! Another seller is offering the case, dial, and hands (no crystal) of another style for a couple dollars less: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-OMEGA-D...ltDomain_0&hash=item4605798880#ht_5212wt_1292Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network And the same ones we bought are plentiful on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Old-Stock-O...ltDomain_0&hash=item27c94bd436#ht_8826wt_1292Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network There was even a seller who had a picture of a box of 10!

I think either a 620 or 625 will fit. There's no shortage of them. Just check the database for what caliber is supposed to fit into the case reference.
Scored a working 620 in great shape with the stainless crown included for $60 shipped. When it all comes it goes to Steve, and then Windy can pick out a strap upon it's return. ....wait, what was that sound? Hold on a minute - I'll be right back. .................. .................. ............ .............................. ....................... I think that was my watches breathing a sigh of relief.
Just about right on the math. Might even be a little less since no cosmetic detail will be needed and there's no time needed to break down the watch before cleaning it. Oh, definitely! I'm going to get her a colored dial vintage watch too. She does like to swipe my Portofino too, so blue might be an option. Maybe I should have gotten the 39 mm version instead of the 34. Anyway, that'll be moot if I can grab her one she likes. I think 23 to 31 mm is her wheelhouse. Wonder if she'd dig an Electric Blue Seamaster?
Finished product: The daily rate is a steady loss of 1 second a day. That's performance that some would kill for!
Or you could look at it like she found a USED watch and I made her one from NEW parts. Depends on if you look at the glass half full or half empty dude. Besides, who could tell the difference with two identical watches placed side by side? Windy is not a collector - she wants a nice manual wind watch to wear for dressier occasions when her Aquaracer would be too clunky.
So I followed to this thread from link posted in another thread. A there a reason all of the pictures don't display? I am very interested in seeing them... @ulackfocus, do you still have the pics? Any chance of sending via PM if not allowed to post?
