Vintage Grand Seiko 4522-8000 Toshiba commemorative 1969

For sale a vintage Grand Seiko 4522-8000 commemorative watch from 1969, given to Toshiba employees with 25 years service. This is a sought after vintage Grand Seiko reference with date only, high-beat very accurate movement 36000 bpm with excellent timekeeping. It was serviced by seller prior to my purchase but no written documentation. A seller I know well and have had very good purchases from over years.

Case is Stainless Steel in unpolished condition maintaining sharp original case lines in Tanaka "Grammer of Design" style. Evidence of wear on caseback. These 45 ref watches wear very well and contoured for low profile on wrist.
Caseback medallion fully intact. Kanji engraving on back typical for Toshiba commemorative watches, date 1969

Dial is clean with slight egg shell color. Hands original and good condition. SS indices good no visible corrosion.

Movement 4522 manual wind with movement SN engraved on movement. Original crown. Keeping excellent time. Seconds hand appears to float with high beat 36000 movement. Winds well, sets normally, date quicket works. All functions good. This is the base movement chosen for the VFA line of GS (Very Fine Adjusted) that are 45 movements with special additional fine adjustments. See attached Timegrapher photo from seller before they shipped watch to me 1 year ago. I have not rechecked but that is possible if requested.

Bracelet is a Seiko SS LordMatic bracelet which fits the watch very well, but is not the original GS bracelet for this reference. Fits my 7 3/4" wrist comfortably. If buyer prefers I can change to a nice leather strap.

Watch and I are in Canada but can also be easily shipped from US as I am back and forth frequently. Please no refunds unless I have significantly misrepresented the watch.

Vintage watches function cannot be guaranteed, may need adjustment/service down the line. Also although serviced I would not consider vintage watch waterproof and would avoid contact with water.
