I made a typo lol the watch is gp
But it's not called gold plated. Do you have picture of the case back where it says F6212?

All I have is the number from the first post that the customer service rep wrote down when the watch was opened

but according to the Omega store it is a mid 1940's watch

Well you won't know for sure until you open the case and use the movement caliber and serial number to give you a guide to its age.

If the Omega store didn't do that then they are guessing.

Just like we all are.

Possible? Yes. Probable? Not in my experience. You won't know until it's been taken apart, cleaned, and the parts inspected under a microscope. I'm sure you could find a watchmaker that will just put it back together with worn parts...
That's why I thought the $200 figure for servicing was optimistic. Of course, finding it for $7.99 was a stoke of luck, maybe the OP can keep the good luck going.
