The watch and box come seperately in the boutique, but the watch was presented to me in the large box. They prepared it for me, so to speak.
Or trying to avoid VAT at import?.... hahahaha

Hard to tell without seeing it live, but does the sapphire crystal on this 321 EW look like the hesalite crystal, with the tall curvature and without the milky ring? The photos seem to show it looks similar... that would be a good thing for them to use in future versions of the standard Moonwatch (for those who prefer sapphire but still want the vintage look) 😀
I very much like the combi of sapphire and nit have the white halo effect. Interesting. Dying to see it in real life although I will never buy this I think.

Hat is off to the watchmaker that does these 321’s. Amazing skills to take these precisely made miniature parts and complete the movements.
Unbelievable watch this 321. $15G’s+. Well some day. Of course these 321’s will be more by “some day”

If Omega were really smart, they would tout that the new 321’s are put together by two watchmakers - each serving to check and review the other’s work.

Or what about a series of specialists that contributed their unique expertise to each aspect of assembly. Hold on - isn’t this how it used to be done?

No doubt it's a fantastic watch, but at 3 times the price of a standard 1861 Pro? Yikes. This is simply Omega charging this much because they can, not because there is anything special (beyond some fancy marketing) about this watch vs. a standard moon watch that justifies the pricing.

Personally, I feel like the 1861 Speedies are criminally underpriced. In the hands of any other brand, they'd probably be asking twice as much for such a watch due to the pedigree alone. The 321's story is also longer than just the part that includes the "moonwatch"

There’s been much debate on the price of this one relative to say the FOIS, as someone who’s actually held the watch can you feel that extra premium?
Hope that makes sense, btw congrats on the purchase., and thanks for taking the time to review.

Hi,

We just published a bunch of photos. There's no milky ring/hue on the dial like on the Moonphase with sapphire. https://www.fratellowatches.com/omega-speedmaster-caliber-321-review-including-a-video/

In all boutiques watches and boxes come separately. I think all brands ship their watches separately from the boxes to their boutiques and dealers.

Agreed. I think the Moonwatch at 4700 comes cheap. And people still complain ;-)

That seems to be a near perfect "vintmodern Watch" Thx RJ for the job done with the video. Give us some pics about the box and extra you've got Inside ;-)

Really happy that Omega has given a new life to the 321 and to the 105.003. It is a really nice straight lugs and a iconic Watch also.

Hi,

Yes, I can. The case is different from the FOiS though, just to let you know. Anyway, the new Caliber 321 is more true to the original 105.003 than the FOIS is to the CK2998. There are more details to 'discover' on the Cal 321 than on the FOiS. The dial is wonderfully made, but also the finishing on the case is just beautiful. Then, there's the movement (this is where the magic is of course) and the bracelet. I think the FOiS is still a steal (and I wonder how long it will be in production, as rumours already were there it would be out last year) though. The Caliber 321 doesn't come cheap, and the FOiS does (imho), but these are two different watches in look, and feel.
