Newly obtained Omega watch from 1966. I´ve been searching on Chrono24 and couldn´t find any others of these where the word "calendar" was written on the dial.
Does that mean that I have a very rare watch?

Refinished dial. Upside down 12 o’clock figure would be the first clue…

OK, I understand. Does that decrease the value of the watch very much?

Pet peeve, but take the time to make an avatar. Silly, yes, but shows a small level of investment.

Yes, almost entirely unfortunately. An original dial is about the most important thing for a watch's value. Then it seems to be case condition. "Correct" hands, even if not original are next. Of course none of this matters if the movement isn't right, so maybe THAT is most important 😀

Crown/crystal being replaced is fairly common, so folks don't seem to mind that too much.

Yea its not a valuable watch from a collector perspective due to the refinished dial but nothing wrong with wearing and enjoying it still

There are a number of ‘tells’ that show the dial isn’t correct but it’s a neat enough redial that only us geeks on OF would know the difference and you could happily wear the watch.

However, if the watch was described as original, and depending on how much you paid, you could consider returning the watch if it bothers you and you were looking for something original.
