2 Rare Omega Constellation Ref. 14396 Jumbos in 2 Days - One in Black! 🔥

It’s been a while since I picked up a Constellation—but this week, that changed fast.

Landed two jumbo Omega Constellation Ref. 14396 in just two days, and I’m still buzzing.

The standout? A black dial piece I’ve never seen before. No hesitation the moment I saw it 🥰

The other one’s a classic silver dial with big markers and a clean crosshair—equally sharp in its own way.

Anyone here ever come across a black jumbo Connie before? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Beautiful pair, its fascinating how the patina on the black gilt dial appears on the text and crosshairs like that, not sure what process causes that but its always an indicator that the dial is entirely original when you see it.

Forgive my dumb question, but what happens to these vintage watches in excellent condition once they are obtained? Do they see the sun more than once in a decade (for fear they would degrade), or they get stored in a vault, never to be exposed again? The black dial looks like it wouldn't survive a hands removal procedure during service, so I guess it becomes sort of a "time capsule".

Even the really nice ones get work occasionally, just with great care on dry days and with known good straps and springbars to prevent loss. Some people do vault them due to how many they have but even they tend to cycle through them periodically.

Thanks! Yeah, especially with black dials, they seem to pick up more patina than other colors. Let’s just call it dial character LOL !
