I’m in the U.K., had my first -AZ vaccine yesterday, second one booked for June. The U.K. managed to do around 700,000 vaccinations a day, which is impressive...
I think I got my first shot on March 18. I say I think I got my first shot. I didn’t feel the needle, and have had zero side effects. Nothing! I don’t know which medication I received, but it was not Astro Zeneca. Next shot, April 22. No sweat!
why did I think you were in California?
No card. Nope! Unless it wasn’t handed to me, but placed somewhere where I failed to pick it up.
An update.
Starting to feel a little achy, like a cold coming on but no nasal stuffiness. Thought I was dehydrated and grabbed some water. Only after getting flushed did I remember that I had the shot and people said this sometimes happens. No too bad but something to be mindful of.
It's actually nice to have something to blame other than just being old.
Looks like they are trying to push out the time between first and second doses, presumably so that they can use more of the vaccine on hand to give people their first shot. The schedule you mentioned is 5 weeks between shots, which is longer than the suggested interval for either Moderna (4 weeks) or Pfizer (3 weeks). It should be fine, but it just delays your full immunity by a week or two.
