·I think this candle toy came from my grandmother. I recall it on the kitchen table. It was broken one of the angels was missing and another had the hole with the rod mis punched and worn through. My guess it came from the 1950s or 1960s. I love the box as well. Back when cheap quality toys were well made (more or less.)
Used some brass shim stock which I ran through the fiber laser and made 3 new angels. I chose to make all three as that way they would be balanced and there was a slight scaling issue. For the most part watchmaking skills are transferable.
Actually did this last week. Took several days making this post as I have to format the photos so they upload with the right color profiles. I had intended to make progress photos, which got overlooked during the excitement of actually using the equipment again.
Unlike attempting to replicate watch parts and dials, the results here are are perfect. One can not see the replaced parts at all. I was going to polish the little guys as the laser does leave soot (probably from finger oil and dust on the edge.) The candles soot them up anyway.
Literally making angel wings.
