Looks very nice and I am struggling a little with it. However, there are a couple of things that I cannot reconcile with archive. the first one is that date of production (based on serial number) that does not line up with style of dial. The second issue is the blatant mistake in print. Telephone timing marks should be at 3 sec, 6 sec and 9 sec. The 9 second mark is out or may be the second chapter that is bleeding into register. It is the same in the second counter register. It is the first time I have seen and old dial with this error. I believe the dial has been reprinted.

Here's another one: https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/56963529_universal-compur-chronograph-switzerland-c-1943. Serial pretty close. I'd expect that the chrono24 one should have a numbered movement as well...

Also: https://www.europeanwatch.com/watch...-Universal-Geneve-Compur-Chrono-YG-10072.html (numbers not visible and no movement pic)

And: https://www.highlifewatches.com/store/p28/1942_Universal_Geneve_Oversized_Compur_-_Ref._12482.html (numbers not fully visible but they are there)

And: https://www.gazette-drouot.com/en/lots/5202837

And: https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/...0020/lot-71c4ae7a-f7eb-4f56-84c7-a784009a1a63 (also numbered movement)

I'm with Diabolik on the weird 9 minute mark (so my vote is redial)

I wonder if this is the same watch. It has the same bleed from the seconds track in the right subdial near 9 and between 13 and 14, and in the left subdial at 42 and 48. The top of the 8 hour numeral also has the same gap in the lume.

This one seems to have patina on the dial though, and the 2 hour numeral may have different degradation. It's a little hard to say from the pictures, but there are similarities that are either interesting or suspicious.

I thought this was worth recording for posterity - a Tiffany signed Polerouter Jet.

Just like a 20355/2 Polerouter Jet only Tiffany branded and without the UG signature or Polerouter branding.

It has the characteristics we would expect to see on a US market Polerouter including a Cal 215-97 movement with the lower jewel count and even the 'TZY' US import code for Tiffany.

I don't think they are the same watch and I suspect they both have similar qualities of the minute/second track overlapping both subregisters, which is unusual, but if they both have it, what is more likely, they are both redialed by the same person or they are both original?

without more research I would hazard a guess at original, but it would be very helpful to see the european watch co example in high res and do more in depth research. Some of these UG examples are tough, requires a deep dive, which I rarely have the time for unless I am considering to purchase myself....

I had a mind to post this in the dual-signature thread (even though it's only single-signed 🙄). It's a nice thing but a bit too far gone and I definitely don't need any more projects. And thanks for the TZY import code info - I didn't know about that.

Completely agree re condition.

I think this sets a pretty high bar in terms of identifying features for a genuine Tiffany signed UG. I don't recall seeing another about which I've had no doubts about its authenticity/originality.

Hi experts,
Looking to get an opinion on this Polerouter ref 204612. Everything from a dial perspective looks fine (though I’m not sure if there’s some unevenness in the thickness of the lettering?) I know that the crystal is replaced and that the crown is unsigned. Movement looks in good condition but it looks like the wheel bridge doesn’t have the typical notch adjacent to the balance wheel. Should I stay away? I’d really appreciate any thoughts! Thanks, in advance.

The bridge shape seems unique (?) to 227xxxx serial 204612-x pieces (the earliest serials of this reference).
At least, I dont recall seeing it elsewhere...
These also have the unusual characteristic that they are SWISS only dials - beyond 227 range the rest are SWISS T, so it seems to have carried over briefly from the 204610 range.
e.g. below.

The dial appears to have been repainted, and the numbers on the caseback are likely fake (denotes an 18k chronograph case).

Seriously?! Come on, it's safer to play Russian roulette; said by an Italian. 😁

Apart from that, it looks like a redial to me.

Why do you think it is a redial ?
