looks nice, the water damage is very acceptable (to my standard) but gut feel tells me it is a put together watch (the lume on the hands look pristine while the subdial hands are worn).

Saw this when it came out for sale. I thought the hands has been relumed? And the moonphase disc has been replaced as well. I like the case and the dial though.

The sword hands are simply relumed. Not necessarily replaced. They are appropriate for this reference.

I don't see any obvious reason why the moonphase disc must have been replaced. Just not faded. Any reason I'm not seeing?

Moonphase without face generally comes with watches from the 50s-60s, though there's no clear evidence on this yet. But I've come across so many examples that has suggested this to be correct.

Hmm,

Maybe Jordn could pitch in? I seem to recall something like what you're saying. But I don't remember the specifics.

The moonphase disc is a genuine UG part, but it is indeed a replacement. The original moon-"face" 😉 versions were highly susceptible to oxidation, so they were most likely replaced by the service centers as an "upgrade". What's not clear, like Andre mentioned, is when exactly they were introduced. The very last days of the 40's to the early 50's is probably a safe bet. Not a huge deal in my opinion unless one's looking for an all-original example. The watch in question could be a good addition for the right price and a more sympathetic relume job - case appears to be in good shape and it is all-original besides the aforementioned problems.

I've met the gentlemen selling #3. He's from Chicago. I almost pulled the trigger on it but couldn't quite do it.

Are these 3 genuine or what's wrong/franken with them?

Number 1 is fantastic. Where is this from?

Not on ebay but could interest a couple people in the Toronto area. I've been working on the gold Polerouter for months and the guy won't sell it to me unless I come get it. That one looks in great shape and it comes with the key to open the case back!

If you still want it, I'd be happy to help. I'm not far from the guy.
