I own one of these, they are lovely watches.

What struck me as odd with this particular example is the minute track. I've never seen that on these models but I'm by no means an expert.

Other examples say microrouter below the Automatic text on the dial. This does not, but mentions it is a microrouter movement. Hmmm. Any chance we can see your version?

That doesn’t bother me. There are many examples with microtor movements and either automatic or automatic microtor on the dial.

Here’s mine. It has a bumper movement though (138SS).

I strongly suspect that the pattern will be similar to that we see with Polerouters i.e. Microtor was only used on the dial for watches with a Cal 215. This example has a low jewelled Cal 218 variant.

Interesting. Do you think that dial is original?

from the dealer:
Good eve, thanks for your note! We've just done a more detailed search for this model (as you 'd been doing before messaging us), and indeed there was only one recent auction where a similar example was sold, item 155902372259, albeit with a 138SS bumper movement. The later versions with microtor movemens may have seen an upgrading of the dial - there are indeed a number of other such watches out there, most in unspeakable condition (e.g. the beauties under 196090047309 or 196221953727). Outside of Ebay, pics of earlire auctions elsewhere can be found, mostly with refinished dials. In fact that would give us more confidence regarding the one we have on auction... its current owner obtained it years ago from a credible source, and it wasn;t worn since; it was labeled "NOS" at the time. Short of being present at the point when the watch was produced, we can't say whether that label was correct, and would not repeat it in our auction since the band was replaced and there are a few hairline scratches on the case. However, none of the usual tell-tale signs of a refinished dial are present - eg "SWISS MADE" instead of "SWISS", a different font used for the imprints, or for UNIVERSAL GENEVE vs. AUTOMATIC, or slight irregularities in the position of the minute markers, which almost none of the restoration efforts can ever get right. So on balance we feel pretty confident that this is an original dial. Its main components are also in line with the Polerouters of the same period we have seen. One can of course never be 100% certain, this is after all a 70year old item. But to the best of our judgment, the dial is orignial.
best regards

This Zenith was quickly sold: https://www.ebay.com/itm/276315592887 Intruiging example. Clearly UG DNA but the numbering does not really match the UG equivalent (which would have a serial closer to 600k). However the inscription sort of matches the UG dating.

Here is the watch. I finally got it. Love it! So minimalist with a touch of Polerouter DNA but the circle in square really makes it unique.
The SWISS font is so tiny you have to look with a loupe to see it well. The crystal makes it hard to view.

Any idea what size buckle you have on your wrist strap? 16 mm or 14 mm? I want to get an authentic UG buckle for it.

This is probably a 18mm lug, so you can easily find 18mm tapered to 16mm. But you can always find the correct genuine buckle first and if that is a 14 or 15mm and custom order the strap to those dimensions.
