Somebody was lucky.....

very good price. Is that gold indices with silver hands? Do we have good documentation on sub types for the 222100 with all variations? The case ref is often worn off and people will mis identify the /X

Have we ever seen a HPC Medico Compax (from South America for that matter so the HPC is Henrique Pheiffer plot thickens)?

I see no reason to doubt its authenticity. Looks like it really had a job in its day.

There's an HPC Medico Compax (Ref 12445) on page 220 of Sala.

There's also the advert showing an HPC Medico Compax on page 224.

The one pictured above is a ref 22420. I think this very watch was listed on eBay at some point - here's a link.

Ok thanks! My bad
No, not at all. I love all the double-signed watches you dig up - keep up the good work 😀

Plenty of red flags here, not least the fact that the Cal 69 movement is too late for the reference.

But does anyone recognise where the unusual ring might have originated from? Or might it be from a later Polerouter?

It looks to be relatively well made although doesn't seem to fit symmetrically around the date window.

It looks like the date window was cut out. And it is mounted a bit skewed ;-)

And it covers the "Swiss" text at the 6!

Agreed, although there are plenty of Polerouters where the Swiss text is obscured by the ring or at least partially obscured.

Any thoughts on this one? Could be a frankenwatch, given the clasp and the lack of visible serial or reference numbers (as per usual with UG), and the bezel (only seen a few like it on UGs), but was curious if anyone had a different opinion.

It’s for an “Exotic Tri-Compax” reference 881101/04. Very rare, indeed, but they are out there. See below for one example recently from Instagram (theydid acquired his example last year from mentawatches). You’ll also find more info in the UG “Ten” book, focusing on the Ninas, Claptons and various exotic references.
