Could you tell what bothers you?

Imho other things are more "confusing".
Yea it’s an odd duck. The shape and height of the pushers are bugging me. I have a collection of gold cased UG chronographs so my eye went there first. Crown is a later one. HM hands are aesthetically jarring.

Most probably, the pushers are NOS and mounted recently.

Imho they are correct, this shape can be found quite often. Imho, it's just a later dial in an earlier 1940ies watch.

I almost went there but the 6 is open not closed.

Recently purchased this Polerouter on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Vinta...p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

A couple of questions for the group:
- The caseback says 869115-06. Looking at the Polerouter reference site, the “06” ref extension does not include a horizontal line, and rather, this watch looks like a 869115-04. Does this mean they the case back was most likely a replacement?
- There are some visible rust spots / corrosion in the back. Any recommendation on getting those cleaned up? Or should I ignore.
- The crown is a replacement. Any idea where I can find one?

Thanks !

The dial looks like it's from an 869115-01 to me as the -04 is slate/grey coloured and not black like the -01.

The most likely scenario is that you have an 869115-06 case and the dial has been swapped. Note how all of the hands seem to be too long and overlap the ring. The hands on the 869115-06 reference look to be longer because that reference does not have a ring.

The correct crown for this reference is stepped, like a smaller version of the crown you see on a Polerouter Super. I'm sure I've seen one for sale recently on eBay.

Thanks a lot. New to this vintage UG world so this is helpful. This the crown you’re talking about ? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-...p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=724-127637-2357-0

Yes, that looks to be the one.

The next problem you are likely to come across is that originally I think there would have been a split stem allowing the crown to screw down.

I'm afraid I'm not a watchmaker so you've exhausted my expertise on that subject.

The serial reference combination may be correct (and that is not that easy to come up with if you want to fake a UG) I'm on the fence about the dial. Hands may be UG but seem short. Movement is legit

Hi everyone,

First post on on the forum, albeit I've been reading for a while.

I was wondering if any of you kind people know where I could find a rose gold, black dial pole router deluxe? I think they come up very infrequently, but I can't imagine when they do it's on eBay.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Sadly, there are no shortcuts to finding great Polerouters. You just need to keep searching and the wider you cast your net and the more frequently you search, the more likely you are to find what you are looking for.

You are right to think that it's unlikely that a good example will crop up on eBay but you never know, so don't give up but also try instagram, dealers, classifieds etc etc

It helps to do your homework, so that you are able to seize the opportunity quickly when it arises. In your case, you need to know the potential references for a black dial De Luxe, what movement to expect, what the crown should look like, the likely price range etc

There is a marketplace on the Polerouter reference site where you can add a wanted listing, which might bear fruit.
