Universal Geneve Watches On Ebay

I got a chuckle when I saw a Universal Geneva Paul router for sale on ebay recently.
Description went on to say: "Case:It has a lot of scratches and grubby. Dial:It has a lot of scratches and grubby."
Don't usually see that kind of truth in advertising on ebay!

If we start saying that Paul Router had this same watch the prices will certainly go up. It worked with Paul Newman...

its a common Japanese mis-translation that turns up online.
Also a useful search term if you're looking for them in Japan 馃槈

Here's a different kind of Jet, never saw one like it before. It has been sold, am posting here for our reference. Apologies in advance if it is already posted somewhere else here.

They come in 2 variations: 1) with both gold markers/hands/logo (pictured) and (2) with steel markers/hands/logo
Most (if not all) 20355-x references had these options it seems.
The one you've linked too seems to have the gold option dial from a 20355/5.

Here's the other all steel version. And another all gold variant I saw somewhere once (which is a different ref # I think) These are pretty cool jets!

Sure. No sharp pic of the watch, but good pics of the catalogues?
private listing - bidders' identities protected
You need to be very very lucky.
But even on the blurry pics it seems to be a redial:
- Font on hour counter is very thick.
- The grey printing is in hour counter subdial, but not on other subdials
- Colors look like white and grey and not different silver colors.
Mine (35mm not 37mm like in the listing) for comparison:

He is obviously knowledgeable. His description:
"Vintage Universal Geneve Tri-Compax Moonphase Chronograph Watch....in Non-Working Order. 18K Yellow Gold Case. Dates to the 1940's. 17 Jewels. 2 Push-Pieces (rectanglar). Smiling Moon. Gold Dauphine Hands. Resister is Numbered in Five Minute Intervals with the Numbers 3, 6, 9 (not long hash marks, like later models). Date Dial at 12 o'clock with Window Showing Lunar Phases. Window at 10 & 12 o'clock Respectivaly Showing Weekday & Month.
The Crystal & Face are in Very Nice Condition. No Box, No Original Paper's. This was a Gift...In Non-Working Condition, which Needs Restoring. Sorry for the Poor Quality Phots's do to Glare.
NO RETURNS"

By the way "Smiling Moon." If the moon is smiling, it's not original...

I contacted him also, suggesting that better photos could be well worth his while. His response was "Sorry....this is the best that I can do."

Wrong hands, smiling moon, very very thick subdial font, grey circle only for the one subdial, lying seller... 馃槖
It鈥檚 like playing the lottery...
I won鈥檛 bid without quality picture. Looks like a redial. 馃槦

The minute subdial especially appears to have a very rounded redialled edge, visible despite the comedy camerawork.
