Many thanks. I will definitely list things here in the future but I am currently just under the 200 posts limit to be able to post in the sales forums.
i personally think UG late 60s chronos compared to speedmasters or paul newman rolexes make UG look ridiculously "cheap" i would rather have a Nina Rindt or exotic compax vs. a 2998-1 literally any day of the week. in fact you could buy 2 UG big eye unicomopaxes and a Nina for the price of a 2998-1. its all relative

Hi All Did anyone noticed this? Seems completely Franken but price still rising. Opinions please Thanks https://leilao.catawiki.pt/kavels/14803055-universal-geneve-tri-compax-1960-1969
well , just clicking on it, the 22259 has rectangular pushers not round and a completely different case and lugs. Definitely a franken
100% agree with you. Beside that movement is marked 281 but I believe tri compax from that period and reference are marked 481. Thanks
I was late on this one, but looks pretty darn good https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-UN...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I saw this one, it's a capitol F Franken mess! But kind of weirdly fascinating mishmash of wrong pieces. Plus, on top of that the dial looks partially redialed? I don't have it front of me but I remember one of the subdials looked great to me, and some of the others were way off.
...And it isn't NOS. Very good condition, for sure, but not NOS. And add to that the inscription on the case back.
The hands are wrong, i believe (should be golden) but this dial is intriguing me: https://www.ebay.fr/itm/montre-universal-geneve-/112668880038?rmvSB=truePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
There seem to be an increasing number of UG watches appearing on Catawiki each week and not all as wrong as this one
The mixture of radial and circular brushing on the dial is doing my head in. That Swiss text looks dodgy, oder?
I can see the radial lines on the chapter ring. I can't see any circular brushing on the dial? Only a scratched crystal and scratching of the caseback in the macro photo of the hallmark. Do you have any further photos or am I missing something? Terrible photos. Hard to make anything of the text.
Agree with @Mazoue , don't see anything wrong with the dial, only a scratched crystal and bad photos. Maybe wrong hands but i'm not sure (it's possible that they were black to match the writings on dial? They have the correct shape and size...)
Apologies, chaps. For some reason my browser took me to this one when I clicked on the link. Not sure what happened there.
