Someone had pointed out that the case age and dial age were not consistent, but can't remember who or in what thread. So I don't think in total it actually is a 1941 watch...

Yep, it's a 50's dial in a 40's case

Not to be presumptuous, but, couldn't it be said that this (mine) is a better example? And I would be satisfied if mine sold for about half the asking price of that watch. Or maybe I just don't have any understanding of UG, sigh.

much much better than the awful dial from eBay ;-)

@aap: I know what you mean. Even the crosshair seem uneven - thicker in some places, thinner in others. I can certainly see your point as to thickness of font. I've taken a gamble with poor seller pics before and have been pleasantly surprised, but never on a piece with so many question marks.

Guys, here is a "better" picture of this dial. I won the item and asked the seller ...

I still have my doubts but I think it's original. May I have your thought ? 馃榾

Erase your doubts - it's gorgeous; nicely done. Just shows how poor original seller pics can raise doubt and provide a great opportunity for a calculated gamble. Congratulations! Also, thank you for sharing these much more crisp pics.

horrible dial ... I wouldn't even consider it.

My irony sometimes gets missed through a forum post.

Yes, I know this looks like a POS, but after following this listing multiple times, I was just wondering if it might look a bit better in person, maybe the buyer had a in-person experience with it before pulling the trigger.

And if it might have been a Forum member, my learning experience would be enhanced if more pictures and an account of it were posted.

My perspective is that if the seller is asking for a pile of cash and can't be bothered to take a decent photo there is something wrong.

I am assuming refreshed. The hands are not original to my watch (the original hands are pencil blue hands which I have kept aside). I put these ones on because I was always fascinated by Sword hands.
