Hi, this watch looks too new.... could it be something fishy? In addition the seller rating is quite low at 100+
I've been watching this one also (I don't intend to make an offer). Signed crystal is a plus, especially if you can live with the crown as is or happen to have a spare on hand. Dial pics leave a bit to be desired (somewhat out of focus on the bottom half of the dial), movement looks clean.

Dear Severin,

For my learning journey into the world of UG, are you implying that there's some issue with the dial or is just the angle of the photo that fail to capture the lower half of the dial?

BTW, does the case looks unpolished as claimed by the seller?

Thanks so much.

Dear Severin,

[...] angle of the photo that fail to capture the lower half of the dial? [...]

This. The dial looks good to me, I only suspect the photos fail to capture crisply the text on the lower half of the dial. What looks like a correct font appears a bit fuzzy (for example, the flat top "A" in the word "Automatic" could be mistaken as a pointy "A" upon a cursory glance, or the entire word could be mistaken as an imprecise reprint).
As for the polish, I can't say for sure: the lug facets looks decent, although the caseback is somewhat worn; this could easily be a function of wear on the wrist. If it is polished, doesn't look like the worst polish ever. Hope this helps, perhaps others will have additional or contrary views.

You are sure with the dial? I always thought that the lines should not cross the text and that they should exactly match the minute markers.
Here, the vertical line crosses the E for example and does not hit the 60 minute marker exactly.

I'm not sure about this one, @Severin as to me, the font looks too thick. Also, it might just be the angle, but the end of the horizontal bar of the L on Universal looks chiseled. A better pic, with a more stable angle is needed.

@aap: I know what you mean. Even the crosshair seem uneven - thicker in some places, thinner in others. I can certainly see your point as to thickness of font. I've taken a gamble with poor seller pics before and have been pleasantly surprised, but never on a piece with so many question marks.

@Beepos - Not sure what you mean ...

As long as it is on a nina case reference, with correct movement and hands, i don't really see a problem, it's a Nina. Absolutely nothing wrong with replacing an old shagged out dial with a newer one from the same reference.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply there was. Meant it was just as likely to come up in a franken, given how much normal Ninas go for

Could just be my bitterness at the price of vintage watches today speaking! 🙁

Have you seen what else he is selling?
I think they are the 80s version of universal, not my cup of tea.

I'm not averse but the price has to be right and, whilst I appreciate that he's selling complete, timewarp, packages, I won't be buying those.

And they appear to be from the late 90s.
