Redial (and not a good one to say the least), wrong hands, wrong crystal...

I wouldn't put my money on it...

    See here.

Bear in mind that the dial lume plots are missing and the tachymeter ring has been refinished (as the seller discloses).

$13k is probably a fair price for the watch, but it's definitely not a great deal.

This has already been discussed at length in this same thread if you search back. It has some issues that won't be easy to resolve as its not very common and parts are hardto find. It has been for sale for a quite awhile now.

It is VERY unusual but in a case style which was common in the early 1960s. I have a Vacheron cal 1003 which my father bought in 1963 presently flummoxing people on the forum for Vacherons. Similar shark edge case accommodating the recessed crown. I had a LeCoutre like that a while ago, See at http://www.vintagepen.com/5watches.jpg. I really like them and this is the most unusual dial I have ever seen! I am amazed no one has snapped it up?? There wasn't much in that post-1950s era which is genuinely beautiful but surely this really curious combination of upright and horizontal batons is it?

My worst experiences with a shark edge case was when I arrived a minute or two too late on the scene and saw a stainless Nivada being sold to a bloke in front of me in the street in New York for $20.

    Much gnashing of teeth.

The dial look's great but I'm not sure the case is original ... There is no reference number on the case back, the watch may have been produced before 1936.

    Your thoughs ?

I don't see anything wrong with it and it appears to be in astonishingly good condition. Price is perhaps a little high given that it hasn't got a "desirable" movement such as one with a microrotor. And of course it hasn't got Polerouter on the dial...
