The earliest advertisement I can find featuring a UG watch on a bracelet is the Polerouter Sub, circa 1961:

Could you tell me where you found these adverts please? I’ve been looking for the print publication for ages and can’t find one anywhere!

I have recently come across a GF brick link bracelet with UG clasp dated 3/61 which has H end links. They measure just under 18mm.

Since I've not come across them before and the UG 18mm end links were marked with a C or a U then these may be for another manufacturer.

Does anyone know anything about H end links?

Many designations were used for 18mm UG endlinks beyond C and U, I believe.

That being said, here is a similar Tissot bracelet.

Those ads are great, thanks.

I had seen a bumper Polerouter for sale with a bracelet with UG clasp but I'm fairly sure it was a later generic bracelet (it was neither GF nor JB Champion) with a UG clasp added.

That just got me thinking about the earliest UG bracelet.

Here is a 1951 Triple Date Moon that was mounted on an (undated) GF Bracelet and without UG logo. I believe this strap is original to the watch or at least from the same era.

Neither. UW.

Thanks! I’ll put up a WTB ad. I assume they grow on trees, will be plentiful and priced accordingly.

Assuming you don't want to wait forever or spend a fortune, you could find yourself some UP 20mm Polerouter Super end links and shave them to fit.

Hello, a follow-up question. I found a guy who sells aftermarket endlinks that he says are substantially similar to original UWs. Obviously, I’m not terribly concerned with originality since this will be a keeper for me, I’m interested in functionality.

He tells me the Evil Nina cases are different between the two iterations, the earlier evil Ninas have a thicker case and therefore lug space is more narrow.

Early Evil Nina (aka Mk1??) lug- 18.7mm
Later Evil Nina (aka mk2??) lug- 18.95mm

The endlinks he has for sale are shaved down to about 18.65mm. Here are pics—do they look close to the real thing? Does he have his measurements correct? If so I guess I’ll have to decide if I can live with approx. .15mm of void on each side.

If it's the ones I'm thinking of, they also don't fit the final links very well. The cut-out is bigger than the link, so they have decent gaps.

They are from an eBay seller. Apparently he had a number of sets of them. Another OF member alerted me to this seller (he didn’t vouch one way or the other), so I guess the seller has been around the UG community.

Edit to add: I had a long conversation with eBay seller today, incredibly nice guy and graciously educated me on my new watch and UG in general. It’s clear he has a deep knowledge base and is passionate about the brand. I’ll have them Friday and post up photos.

What about this one with no date and "UE" endlinks? It looks like it matches this 869119 polerouter well.

I think it might be from a White Shadow

Not tried but I think UT are 18mm. Doesn't the Clapton have 19mm lug width?
