Caliber 130- Valjoux 72
The 227xx references were introduced in the late 50s to very early 60 and ran for a very short time which makes them quite rare and sought after. The 22703/1 panda and reverse pandas are rarely seen. This beautiful reverse panda is an oversized Compax (40.5mm). The reference dates to the early 60s. The watch is powered by a caliber 130 (modified valjoux 72) as used by the Rolex Daytona.
CONDITION:
Service history is unknown, so the watch is sold as-is. It is running and keeping time and the chronograph starts, stops and resets.
The original black dial has Slight Aging, most notably in registers where the finish is worn in a section of the minute register (5th image). Please see pictures
Movement: Mechanical, modified Valjoux 72 (18,000 vph)
Case Size: Approximately 40.5mm
Excellent case condition with typical wear for a 60+ year old watch, it appears to have been polished in the past. Ref and serial number are on the case back, and as typical for this reference are no longer legible.
