Hi everyone,

A friend of mine has been wanting to buy a 33.3 - or a variant, but I can't tell whether the 2 variants I found have original dials or not, here they are:

First one, from eBay:

Second one, from Mercari:

If the second one is a redial, it's a job well done I think, but since they've been on the market for months, I assume both are redials

Well both are redials.

The first has a case/back marked 2279, which isn't a 33.3 ref at all, but a ref for a 3 register 27 CHRO C12. So then we come to the second problem, this watch is a 2 reg chrono, so that would be a 27 CHRO in case ref 2278 which is basically an identical case design

So or we have the wrong 2 register movement and dIal in a 2279 case, or we simply have a wrong caseback. But either way these are 35mm cases and the wrong ref for a 33.3 movement.

As for the second one....there are many alarm bells ringing and I can't recognise the movement ref which also looks to have major issues with replacement parts. Also the case doesn't look like a 33.3 ref to me.....one of the clear giveaways being the non-olive shaped pushers.

Clearly no 33.3 Movements as others said. Pretty easy to spot, when you know how the movements should look like:

easiest to spot, CH27 has the crown on the right when balance wheel is in down position, with the 33.3 its the opposite.
