Turning crown counter clockwise to turn hands clockwise?

This is probably a really ignorant question but is it correct that the minute hand moves clockwise when I turn the crown counter-clockwise. Out of all my watches, my Omega Seamaster Deville is the only one that does that. My other watches, for example, my Seiko SRPD41, I turn the crown clockwise to set the time forward and vice versa. This is my first Swiss and Omega. Can anyone explain?

Simple explanation......that's just the way they were designed.

It's not just Omega. Throughout time the design of the watch dictated the direction of the crown set the time.

Where was that wonderful thread about a watch maker saying that the previous watchmaker had stuffed up their watch, because it now turned the wrong way?

Lol I feel like an idiot now for not knowing. I've only had Seikos and Citizens until now and they all set the time the same. That's why I was shocked when my Seamaster turned counter clockwise

As noted in the other thread - easy fix. Just open up the watch and add (or remove) a gear!

I'm sorry I didn't read the whole thread. Is that an actual thing people do? It doesn't bother me at all that the hands go counter clockwise. If that's the way Omega originally made it, I'd like to keep it that way lol
