I spoke with the owner this morning and only two people have owned this watch--her uncle and herself. I'm fairly certain it's all original and arrived on her uncle's wrist as we see it here. I'm still curious about the lack of Swiss on the dial.

Hi
Are you saying that her uncle bought this privately at a store ? Is it possible he was working for one of the railroad lines in canada

it’s possible caseback could have been swapped during service as good chance a lot of there were railroad required in most cases so groups of these could have been done at the same time.

The movement is marked adjusted in 5 positions and temp ! Is obstructed by the hacking leavers ..

I have a few of these sold one recently .... I just loved them .

good hunting

So far we have everything but the price 😁

I was hoping to get some help with that here. Many PMs asking to buy but I have no idea how to price this watch.

Um...you are a busy guy on sales forums so this isn't your first rodeo.

But I've never sold one of these and there aren't a lot of past sales to be able to figure out market value. I was hoping to get some help here from more experienced UG collectors.

Understood. I guess we come from different schools of thought when it comes to thinning the herd. I like to blow stuff out and move on. Even though it's a friends watch I would price it for her at around $750 to $850 off the top of my head and be open to offers. Swinging for the grandstands with a watch that has apparent flaws and not serviced might end up with 3 pages of bumps causing potential buyers to suspect the thing has some sort of hidden flaw other potential buyers are aware of.
Either that or stick it on Ebay and let bidders decide the worth?

Thanks for your thoughts on pricing Fred. I don't agree about apparent flaws because aside from the polished case I don't see any. One member feels the movement is in the wrong case but has not responded to the links I posted showing other chronometer movements in 1205 cases and no one else has weighed in with their opinions.

Yes I get the confusion as it is an unusual and interesting model. However I have found that watches which are being offered for sale that require extensive explanations and speculations as being notoriously hard to sell unless they are bargain priced.

I hope that may be the situation rather than hopeful buyers looking to get the watch below market value. Like I wrote above I've had PMs offering to buy the watch but no one has actually made an offer or given me an idea of what it's worth to them as interested buyers.

I've had a conversation with the owner and we've settled on a price that she's happy with and I believe is a fair asking price.

The only issue is she wants to keep this watch in Canada. I'm worried that makes it harder to sell but for now she wants the watch to go to someone here.

I'll be listing the watch and hoping for the best.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this thread.

I'm Canadian. That would be impolite!

I'm a pushy American so I got $500 for it to get the ball rolling. NOW let's see the PM's you get 😁

So is the price top secret? After all it is the main focus of this thread.

I paid US$840.00 for a RR Chronometre (with a flaking dial) on ebay in May this year.
