Hey,
So up in Sydney this weekend and went into Kalmar Antiques and Hardy Brothers (an AD).

First, Hardy Brothers. As per the other thread on judging books, I was wearing my 20th anniversary Speedy, and the sales assistant commented on it. I tried on a couple of Seamaster Pro 300Ms, the special edition 50th anniversary, which is only ~31mm. It felt small, and especially given its thickness, definitely didn't suit me. The larger size didn't appeal either. Didn't bother with the POs, as they are even thicker than the 300M professionals.

Then, decided to try on the modern constellation. Unfortunately they didn't have the Sedna red gold, but the moment I put it on, took it straight off. I never thought I'd be a fan of the modern Connies and I was right.

Finally, on to what I actually loved - the 37mm AT, yellow gold, black face. Very nice! The way the dial, the omega text, the hour markers dance with the light was wonderful. Even better, my wife agreed it was gorgeous.... But we are not about to spend $8k on it. She did agree that for my next big promotion at work I could buy something like that though.

Yesterday I went to Kalmar Antiques in the QVB in Sydney. Good range, but outrageously expensive! They had a gold cap Connie for more than $3k!!! But I did get to try on a beautiful 18k Connie with arrow head markers!

Pictures?
I never seen the 37mm AT. The smallest one I knew is 38.5mm CMIIW.
Now even in Omega website the 38.5 mm AT collection is put at ladies section 馃槨.

The vintage watch shops never cease to amaze me with the outrageous prices that they ask for anything and everything, how much was the 18kt Constellation?

$4250 I think. Bezel still had some shape, but no tomato cutting. Had definitely been polished, as it had a significant 'oooh shiny' factor. From memory it had a personal engraving on the back, and I was suspicious about the lume dots on the dial.

The woman there wasn't particularly helpful, while the woman at the AD was very friendly, happy to pull out more watches.

31? That's a woman's size, although they might not call it that. The mid size is 36, the large is 41. They didn't have a 36 mm model which you would have liked.

Shoot me a PM when that time comes.

I think with the way Omega pricing itself around the world, best way is buy it in US or Germany. With the difference of higher price item (like this all gold Aqua Terra) you can buy return ticket and pick up yourself for a nice vacation.

I think my wife will like the sound of that!
