Had a little time to kill and the wife was generous enough to spend a bit of time with me in a AD of multiple high end watch brands. She spotted this Daytona and really liked the contrasting colors. The dealer pulled it out and I graciously modeled it. Then she asked how much, knowing it was a pre-owned watch. She said put it back when he said $36,000. 😁 Not my style, but a sharp watch nonetheless.

Rolex makes some fine watches, but the Daytona has never appealed to me. Even the simplest dial versions of the Daytona just look too busy and needlessly complicated to me. And the more opulent versions - eww. Omega could certainly take some lessons from Rolex on how to build brand awareness, but IMO Omega mopped the floor with Rolex when it comes to chronograph styling.

It's a shame. They should have quit when they were ahead.

Def not my style but I did enjoy putting on a watch that I wouldn’t buy even if I loved it and had 36k to blow….was just reading up on the 2024 release of the Fois. THAT is a watch that would check a ton of boxes for me though.

That Daytona is actually priced well. Currently, a PM Daytona on Oysterflex is around $33k. I believe that particular dial is discontinued. A great looking watch.

If you are looking for his and hers pair. Here’s the other, similar price to your chocolate Daytona above.
