Back on task! You’re all supposed to be telling me how much / or little you think my watch is going to be worth in an hour, day, week, month, year, decade, and century.

😝

Railmaster looks great on this bracelet. What bracelet is this dear?

Thank you. It's a 1068. I kept the endlinks that came with the railmaster. This means that it would also fit the seamaster and the speedmaster.

IMHO anything that is not original makes it Franken. If dial was not even made by Omega then it would have been a FAKE one.

It's a special order if it is made by Omega, hardly a franken.

FWIW, if the dial color of your Rolex oyster perpetual bores you after a while, you can have another one for a not unreasonable charge (said an AD near me). That is also not a franken in my book.

I hear a lot about the Railmaster Trilogy being boring. Well, yes, this is not candy from Richard Mille. However, after my friends saw this watch on their wrist, their opinion immediately changed. Two out of three bought this model. Two out of three! They went to the boutique and received. Not a Rolex, but a “boring watch.”

How can a with domed glass model be boring? How can a watch with a high-tech caliber be unpopular? World has gone mad. Everyone began to measure only at the speculative resale price.

I love mine. Totally agree. It’s arguably the best-looking watch I’ve ever seen. Has to be seen in person.

I can’t imagine why/how ANY luxury watch these days doesn’t get resold with box and papers....really??...who throws that away? I guess maybe if you’re a Sultan or something, but still...

Also, not everybody cares. For some, packaging will always be junk.

As mentioned before, the amount of people that don’t take the box to start with will amaze you.
Cruise boats, holidaying people, many who buy at airports on a first flight for a few weeks travel don’t want to lug a box around.
( remember chanting at a airport a while back and 3 people that day hadn’t taken the box with them just the wallet with warranty cards )

These boxes anyway are totally ridiculous in size and outdated in terms of design. They are a waste of space and money (and quite environment unfriendly). I have to keep them just for resale value, but it's a pain. I just wish Omega (and others) either go back further in time and make small carton boxes or just sell the watches in transportation pouches. Sigh.

Happy with a brown paper bag. ( and a few hundred $$s off )
Box I looked at for a few minutes and jammed in a cupboard for the last 2 and a half years.

😉 still love the watch

There’s nothing you can do about the market. Let’s face it, watch lovers like us are just a sub-sub-culture. All those people buying Rolex in China don’t give two sh*ts about our analysis. If you bought one of the trilogy pieces and lost a lot of value (like me, I paid retail for it), might as well just wear it and enjoy it.

That’s what the caseback is for with a Star chart 😉

If original 2915's and 2913's are hard to find and extremely expensive now just think where they will be in a couple more decades. The trilogy watches could become sought in the long term.

I cannot tell a lie - I hate keeping boxes... it’s a waste of space and they are an annoyance to keep around. That being said “resale value” tanks the moment you misplace it. It’s one of the reasons I typically prefer vintage, far more forgiving for missing some of the bits.

I wish I could sell my box and all the junk that came with it for the loss in resale value 😁 then I could be rid of it and just enjoy the watch.
