Man, that's a really nice speedy you already have.

To echo some of the opinions on this thread, I think one of the issues of trading up is the potential to wear it less.

For example, you said you wear your -69 quite often. Would you do the same with a 105 straight lug that may be 2-3x the value of your current watch? Would you worry about scratching/dinging/breaking something?

I know I've had similar thoughts for some of my daily wears.

Good point! I bought the Speedy at a time when prices were still reasonable. So yeah..I've been thinking about if I'd I wear a 12k watch on a daily basis? Probably not…

For what it's worth, do whichever you think is a step in the right direction.
If you think you'll have more use for the 105.003, then it's a no brainer.

Take me for example, don't play guitar anymore and am getting rid of the collection to accommodate watches and other things.
Does a 67 rickenbacker 330= a 1039 145.022?

After getting a hang on what if would realistically cost me to obtain a similar condition Ed White, trading up will not materialize...

So the 69 will be the Speedy in my collection. Time to look into other Chronograph models.
