I bought several samples from Amouage directly, as they were way cheaper than the other online guys. So far I have only tried Boundless. Trying to find the right time to try the Silver Oud, as from what I understand its kind of a love it or hate fragrance and I am not sure I could stand myself all day at the office if I hate it,

My vote: a day off work, fresh showered body, nothing else on ya scent wise, and do it. And as I've recently discovered for New Scent Day (especially spendy ones) ~ apply it and hang inside for a bit, outdoors, small room, large room, a few hours into the dry down do something that raises your body temp some exercise, as well as query those nearby (family) for a full rundown of what does/doesn't work.
This way if you hate it, the shower and clean clothes are on standby.

If you love it let's timeshare a bottle like a broken family that airfares their kids back & forth coast to coast? ;-)

😀
I read a review that basically said that it might take more than one shower to wash off!!

Try the sampler and don’t wait for an occasion- it’s like waiting to use the fine China and it never ends up getting used. If you find you love it and it’s the end all for you, then buying one bottle of that versus 4 bottles of mediocre swill will actually be a cost savings

As mentioned by others - Acqui Di Parma - which is my mainstay - either the classic version, or for Spring, their Mediterraneo version, especially the Fico Di Amalfi (fig).

Others I sometimes use and like - Penhaligons, either Quercus or Endymion, and also Jo Malone - Lime Basil Mandarin

Thinking I'll give it a go then, thank you for confirming the fig note -- love fig!

Just popped in here because I'm bored. This entire subject is still very foreign to me. Had to look up that bottle you guys were talking about. I'm sorry, but whoever wrote this crap must be smoking crack. Are all of the product descriptions like this? Give me a break...

ODE TO BURNING DESIRE
Inspired by the themes expressed in Stendhal’s 19th-century French novel, ‘The Red and the Black’, particularly the notions of Confusion, Passion and Destruction, Silver Oud is a manifestation of the tension between idealism and realism, the contradiction between thinking and feeling, and the power of mimetic desire.

At least that fella probably went to college -- most public frag reviews consist of "It smells good, I got lots of bitches wanting to mate with me when I spray 12 sprays on me" and "Total ripoff, it stinks like ass and Amazon says I can't return it cause I opened it. RIP $12.99, buyer beware!!"

Haven't tried the AdP fig, but Diptyque's Phylosykos EdT is a really nice, realistic but wearable green, fig leaf thing that's worth a try as well. Have you ever picked a fresh fig right off the tree, peeled it, and (I was going to say smell your fingers but I ...dang it I said it...) ...well that's what Phylosykos is like.

I wanted to know what love is, and then Phylosykos showed it to me.

Don’t think it will make you a Jukebox hero though.

Bet that feels like the first time you dirty white boy.
