@Runner73 @erpin9 @Momoleskine @JC75 @bristnj
I've been offered this locally. It looks all good to my eye except for the missing bracelet. Does anyone see any problems that I missed?

If you haven't already, go to tituscalypsomatic.com for a detailed summary of each iteration of the Calypsomatic. I am on a smartphone at the moment, so really can't see photo details. The number on the datewheel appears black. I believe they are supposed to alternate blue and red. Lume looks great.... possibly re-lumed?

Good hunting! Good luck

The date wheel alternates black and red on this one. Thanks for the link, I've browsed that site before, but I forgot about it. Unfortunately, it really doesn't talk much about the 7986, mainly focusing on the more desirable earlier models.

My best looking Calypsomatic with gilt gloss dial.

Amazing piece in great condition, still very undervalued imo.

Titus made some Calypsomatics for Dacor, the American diving gear company. Here is my 8940, one of the last Calypsomatics of the 70's, with Felsa cal 905.

A Dacor diver appears on the wrist of one of the virtuoso surfers in the 1966 classic The Endless Summer.

Along with Dacor (as above in @MMMD’s post), Healthways (of Enicar fame), US Divers (of Aqualung fame) and Swimaster, Voit was one of the five original US companies that tried to cash-in at the start of the diving craze. They offered two dive watches, the chronograph SDW-1 and the regular SDW-2. Here’s a very early SDW-2 which shares its case with the Calypsomatics and early UG Polerouter Subs (the later and fractionally less rare SDW-2s used the squarer skin diver style case). By a miracle the original Parmentier crown cap is still there, and this cap reverses to form the winder when needed. The faceted crystal is pretty odd but this whole thing looks close to NOS so could it be original ?

That is stunning!
Would really like to scout an original bracelet for mine but seems tough! 😁
