Scarecrow Boat
··Burt Macklin, FBIFor sale is an early 70's Titus Calypsomatic 7986 with big crown, beautiful matte dial, and wonderfully aged tritium hands & dial.
This reference is 37.5mm not including crown and very comfortable to wear. For reference, my wrist is just over 7". This will come on a modern Baltic rubber strap that obviously isn't original to the watch, however, it is the correct style strap for the time. Overall the case is in excellent condition with few superficial scratches, which is commensurate with age. The lug width is 20mm. The black bezel is in overall great shape and has a nice even fade to it. There is a small scratch to the right of the indicator for "30" on the bezel. The entire bezel including the coin edge is black, however, over time the lip of the bezel has gone evenly polished around the entire bezel. The magnified crystal is clean inside and out and shows off the beautiful textured matte dial. The original tritium lume has aged beautifully and as you would expect, reacts to light but quickly fades. As said in the title, this reference has a big crown and the crown is original, signed, and screws down smoothly and securely. Unscrewing the crown puts you in position to wind and the ETA 2472 movement winds smoothly and immediately comes to life. It looks to have been serviced at some point as there are markings on the inside of the case back, but I don't have any service history. It keeps great time and has a healthy power reserve. I have reliably worn this daily for long stints and have not experienced an issue. The date wheel rotates between navy blue and red. The caseback shows the most wear from actual wear/usage but it is largely superficial. There are multiple reflective surfaces on the caseback, so I took plenty of photos to highlight the complete condition. I believe this just about sums it up, but please message me with any questions.
Both the watch and myself are located in Northern California. I am asking $2,000 obo. Again, the watch is sold only on the Baltic rubber strap. Shipping within the conus is included in the sale. Outside of this will be a little extra. Payment can be made through Wise, Zelle, or Venmo. Returns are not accepted unless the watch has been grossly misrepresented.

And now, for all the photos. The piece looks wonderful in all lighting conditions and I took plenty of photos to show this. I did my best to highlight all imperfections. Please forgive the randoms smudges/fingerprints.
The shadows on the dial between the 22 & 23 minute markers as well as 43 & 44 minute markers are shadows from marks on the crystal. I polished those out with poly watch and the crystal is clean.
As always, thank you for your time
