Thoughts, swapping my Rolex Deepsea D blue for Omega Silver snoopy

Changes in taste may also mean that the snoopy might loose it's appeal while the rolex will always retain a certain sense of timelessness that will appeal to a wider audience if you decide to sell it in the future.

I'd have to say that in this particular instance, I don't feel the "timelessness" of the Rolex in question. In my opinion, it's a bloated monstrosity made even worse by gimmick dial with clashing, green text commemorating a feat only known in the closed ranks of watch enthusiasts and a few film buffs.

...The same might well be said about the Speedmaster, though 😜

I wouldn't want to have either at the price they are commanding (and you'd have to pay me to wear that ghastly Rolex), but each to his own.

I would personally go with the trade, seeing in the long run the value for the snoopy is going to only go up especially with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 13 mission coming up.

The person giving up a Snoopy would be taking a lose unless they're crazy about the DS... Snoopy Speedmaster's are always going to be in the $9.5 - $12.5 range where I've seen DS's up for sale in the $8 range several times. You'd really need to find someone "out of the loop" for this one to work for both sides my friend.

Best of luck with acquiring that Snoopy,

Thomas

Both are kind of gimmicky imho. Both kind of fall under the Cabbage Patch watch category. No guarantee what the future will hold for either. Get the one that call you the most.

I like snoopy and I think he looks great on the dial. Would you like to know which mass produced Omega dial bothers me? That would have to be the dark side of the moon with its Zr02 on the dial. It completely disrupts the dial.......how could they EVER think that people would like ZR02 on their dial?????????????????? Tell me one person that thinks to themselves "man its really cool that ZR02 is on my dial". I dare one person to honestly agree with this.

I don't mind "Zr02" on this dial.

@Nitzbar , I love ceramic dials too but I need to remind you & everyone here that the person who made those specific remarks on that particular post is NOT the real Josh or Japenney. It was probably one of his buddies who made the entry , most likely of Far East Asian descent 25 -40 yrs age , perhaps a flipper who wears NB sneakers

Ms. @meganfox17, I'm guessing you know Japenney outside of OF, to be able to ascertain that kind of info about him, in his short time here. He "dared just one person...", I happened to be his huckleberry. I have nothing of value you add to this thread, so I will go back to what I do best.

I would do it. In the dark season, glowing dogs are of great value ...

....and winter time makes sleepy.

Both are limited from where I am staying. Will need a premium to acquire from secondary.

Modern rolex will always be driven by rising AD price.

On other hand, omega has released tonnes of limited edition speedies - 23 models in fact. Till date, snoopy remain one of its kind unless omega will change the trend anytime soon.

In short, omega snoopy speedy may be a better bet.
