Thoughts on this Polerouter Genève cal 69

Hello everyone!

My second serious post on these forums. Hardly did I have my first Omega Constellation around my wrist (now away on service) before my eyes started wandering. Ah, shameful mind. I've been looking at Polerouters for a little while, but don't know them that well. Plus details are harder to find than on Constellations. So I hope I can ask you for some advice on this watch:

http://www.lorologiese.com/it/universal-polero.html

(Crown has been replaced, but not by the seller, and the clasp has been lost over the years as well.)

It's mostly the dial I can't quite get my head around. Refinished or just touched up?

The seller have been said to feature franken-connies, which is why I feel somewhat extra wary.

redial. overpolished too. pass.

Uhhmm I would not say overpolished... but it has been obviously polished. The limit between a cleaning and light polish (totally acceptable in my opinion) and overpolishing depends on taste, I think. Nevertheless a non-polished example is always more desiderable.

I think it is not a redial but its clearly touched up. Font is legit and tiritum plots seem original, but it is lacking any sign of patina, which is not normal.

I don't believe it to be a redial either. But I do find it highly over priced.

I see no evidence of a redial, but yes, certainly over-polished.

Thank you! As the rest of you, I do prefer "the more original, the better". I certainly was how I met my Connie. The polishing is something I do wonder about. Wouldn't a gold cap be damanged by over-polishing?

The dial - was there even a Polerouter Genève with this dial? I can't find anything similar expect on an auction site in Thailand. But as Fer Seamaster wrote, script and details look legit.

You can get this one for 380euros, freshly serviced but not the original crown from a seller in Belgium.
I don't know if you're looking for a CAL 69 or a Polerouter!

I can see the arguments mounting up against the one I started this post about 😀 Can I ask where you found that listing? Obviously I'm short of an interesting market place.

It doesn't need to be a cal 69, although a microtor movement would be nice.

The dial is indeed original and was a later dial design.

It is used on their Polerouter Electric and other Polerouter watches.

Bingo. That's what I needed to see. "Redial" comment retracted. A "Swiss Made" signed dial is atypical for UG, and while the espiritu was in keeping, I had trouble with this detail.

I usually try to base my search on local internet for sale sites. I don't have deep enough pockets to win anything on eBay.

You never know, I've gotten some very nice deals on eBay, all it takes is a little patience and focus.👍
