Thinking about pulling the trigger on this one but do not know polerouters enough to be able to spot warning signs. What does everyone think about this one? I've also never seen a mesh bracelet like this one before though it is definitely a UG.

Appreciate the help here all and excited about becoming more active in this forum, I've definitely caught the UG bug.

My guess is this is a later one? As I've never seen one with these hands ...

It's an 869115/01. Everything looked correct to me (the crown wasn't straight, which worried me slightly).

The bracelet was probably later but looked great in my opinion.

Unfortunately, if you were a potential buyer, it looks like it has now been sold.

The UG Polerouter is an iconic watch from an enigmatic company that benefits from a beautiful design by the renowned designer Gerald Genta together with some romance from the early days of jet airplane travel. That's like catnip for vintage watch collectors :)

When did Hodinkee do a piece on these? FWIW somehow I stumbled into the Polerouter internet research black hole while looking into UG, which I hadn't paid much attention to until recently, and they are objectively awesome.

I mean ... in this inflated market, they're still attainable. They are beautifully designed. Movement is awesome. Tons of little variations. I honestly don't understand why they're not MORE popular. Certainly, they seem to hold up better than the tri compax in my eyes but what do I know, ha.

PR and Tri Compax are very different watches, it's not a zero sum equation, they can both be amazing :)
