Thoughts on this 166.0124 Geneve Diver

Greetings and Happy New Year! I plan on kicking off the new year with this piece. To me it’s quite lovely with correct bezel, hands, crown, and bracelet. However, I have not seen this type of dial on this reference and am curious if it is correct. The dial appears to resemble the Stingray’s dial. However, in most Stingrays that I’ve seen, “Swiss Made” is written above the 6 o’clock index rather than below it. Thoughts on this or anything else that looks awry?

For comparison, the first two photos illustrate Stingray dials while the last represents the standard 166.0124 silver dial. Photos from the internet.

Judging by the fact that every other picture of the model reference shows the standard dial configuration for this watch, apart from one image I would guess that it is a stingray dial that has been refinished. It could be a rare version of course but it would be enough to make me think twice before buying it.

This dial is correct for this case in terms of the style - part #064TT1640005. Also came in a darker charcoal background colour.

However it is missing the Swiss Made above 6, but there could have been variations without that...

I can barely make out “T Swiss Made T” or “Swiss Made” below the 6 o’clock index. If that’s the case, is it fair to assume “Swiss Made” would not also be printed above the 6 o’clock index too?

Again, the version on the Omega Extranet has it above...what conclusions you draw from that are up to you. I'm just trying to help provide what information I can...

I'm suspicious because that seller is selling redials 99 times out of 100.
I’m certainly aware of that. However, the font and alignment of the text on my example looks relatively the same as those of the stingray so I’m not as certain it’s a redial.

@FREDMAYCOIN Stingrays: ref 166.121 and 166.122
Thanks for the reference numbers, what I would like to know is what is the feature on the watch that associates it to a stingray?

The dial on my example, except for the location of “Swiss Made”, looks very similar to the ray and both utilize the same movement.

As far as I know the rather short lived Cobra/Stingray only came with 3 or 4 designs, the one with a similar diver type bezel being the most uncommon. This is obviously not a Stingray but definitely shares the same general dial design.I think I can make out T for tritium either side of Swiss made at the base which suggests to me it is original... I really doubt this is a redial, perhaps just a variation of the designs they made for the Cobra to make this watch a little more unique.. I've rarely if ever seen this type of dial design offered up for sale as a replacement in comparison to say the glut of available Dynamic dials of this era...but then again Omega produced over 1000,000 Dynamics back in the day. Stingrays didn't quite capture the publics imagination in the same way. An interesting piece for sure...just keep it away from water!!!
