@Larry S here is a link to the modern Zodiac on the top of this group:
http://www.zodiacwatches.com/en_US/...ritage_sea_wolf-ZO9253P.html?imagePath=ZO9253
It's definitely a diver, a reissue of the 1970s-era Sea Wolf. (Zodiac Sea Wolf Compression with acrylic bezel). There is also the Zodiac Sea Wolf Skin, with metal bezel, modeled on the 1960s Sea Wolf, at right in my photo.

Are these recent? Went to zodiac website and all they seem to have are diver watches. Were these special runs of production?

These are great. Sadly they don't have a dealer in Chicago.

Black dial, Rose gold dial markings and a stainless steel case...........what's not to like in a 'modern' watch?

I too have the same Longines 35mm modern reissued. A really beautiful watch.

@Syrte is correct @Larry S The top one is the heritage version and the other three are vintage. The modern one is a bit larger but not crazily so and wears well. The two in the middle are 35mm vintage to the39mm modern. The bottom one dates to the mid 70s and is intermediate in size.
And the Modern one drew my eye...interesting. ;-)

I think taking design cues from vintage is great. Classic design with modern functionality. I agree however that making limited runs of a vintage knockoff to create a "collector piece" in bogus and soulless.
I tend to agree. Is that a coydog as an avatar?

He's my canine pal Banzai. Shiba Inu .... 14 years old. I get Coydog, wolf, Dingo and most often Fox. If I had a dollar for ever fox comment I could buy a lot watches!

I am a big fan of the 1935 Heritage Aviator, but alas, can't spend the money on one because of that date window. It just kills it for me.
I agree with you. It always baffles me why Longines inserts date window in its vintage reissues. Date in fact kills the basic spirit of the watch. There may be a segment of buyers for that too but a collector would perhaps shun it. Moreover it's a pain to set date every time you take out watch your wear in rotation. Simple vintage Longines as they were would be a great pick any day.

Sorry, If I'd seen him from the side, it would be more obvious. This is Tiffany, "Collie Mix" is what the Vet wrote. 9 years old...God grant them many years.

I think the Longines Heritage line is superb. As was said above it is a modern take on a classic piece.

What are people's thoughts on Omega using lume that is designed to look vintage, but isn't actually? Surely that is no different.

I like heritage watches, it is a watch you like and you can use it every day without worry about destroying a piece of horological history

She is just beautiful. Very regal. Hope she likes being brushed!!👍 There is some Spitz in her for sure. Yes .... May they live long, loved and healthy lives! My guy has really slowed down (rabbits no longer fear him) but he's healthy and happy.

Thank you for the kind words, Larry. Tiffany ("Manifestation of God") hates being brushed. Her snarls BRAID themselves! Very strange. Squirrels still fear her...as they should. Possums are learning. Mice and rats no longer exist...so that's moot. She has tired of cats and is treating them like small dogs now. Dogs sometimes try to pick fights with her, but she thinks they are playing and exchanges precise bite for bite, snap for snap. They get confused after a bit...then start smelling each other. Fearless because she doesn't know what a fight is? Ridiculously smart. Actually half golden retriever and half something else.
