Thoughts on the Conquest Heritage?

I like the vintage Conquests, but finding a no date, in great condition, is tricky.

Which brings me to looking at the Conquest Heritage.

These are the pros and cons floating around my head:

1. [Pro] Very similar design to the vintage.

2. [Pro] Not expensive.

3. [Con] The Longines brand has been languishing a bit since Swatch decided to place it beneath Omega, which means it has lost some of its reputation, and resell values are bad.

4. [Con] It uses an ETA movement which means it's not in-house, however Swatch owns both Longines and ETA, which means it's sort of in-house. Certainly not as outsoured as say a Tudor using an ETA.

5. [Pro] It uses an ETA movement which means super reliable and painless servicing.

6 [Con] The hour markers and hands aren't real gold, which doesn't sit right with me.

Thoughts?

For me, in-house movements aren’t necessarily a selling point. Cost of service/ownership is worthy to have on your pros vs cons list.

Obviously mine, whilst a current model, are smaller with a different movement (and a date) but I’ve always been entirely happy with the build, fit and reliability.

Is this picture of the new heritage a 3D rendering of the watch of some sort?

It just doesn’t feel or look the same as the original, but unsure what it is…

I wish it were 35mm like the previous reissue @Spruce has. Otherwise I think it is a great option. My preference would be the black and rose gold.

Like many manufacturers, they’re going for 38mm rather than 35mm ….

They look similar to the original, but the execution is a lot less nice though.

The cases on these always look like they've had several rounds of polishing done with a buffing wheel.

If you want the vintage version, be patient and hunt for one. Or just PM @seekingseaquest and make him an offer he can't refuse.
Obligatory photo. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen an original black dial with rose gold accents like the reissue.. would love to have one though.

Thanks. I want a no date though which are harder to find.
They do pop out from time to time... Just in the last 3 months, there was a black one and a white dial one for sale on the private sales section.
As @Dan S said, patience and/or PM users when you spot one.
Family portrait 😀 (The black Conquest is not mine, she was just visiting)

The Nivada Anartic reissues in 35mm are similar and might scratch the same itch.

I have the vintage date version. I initially found the date window position to be awkward but loved it after a while. Has a great vintage feel to it.

What a lovely set.

Whisper it softly on OF, but I’m of the view that Longines dials seem to last better than Omega’s

Hell ! @Weihao 's set is stunning ! Dials are such in great shape, I would agree with Spruce's statement about Longines vs Omega.
Also I agree with the statement about the date location : the more I see it, the "less I dislike it "

I’m enthused about Longines Conquest models, both vintage and reissue. Both have great styling features that appeal to me.

I’m enjoying viewing the photos in thus thread.
