I think it'd be too much watch for that style, they're more suited to WWW sizes.

But I wouldn't mind seeing the combo.

Agree, especially with the classic narrower Bonklip. But I think the largest Bonklip is 20mm, so that could be an interesting combo.

Nothing like cheap crappy Speidels. I mean I have a couple $5 Speidels for "emergency use". But for the ultimate in "cheap chic" you need the clip on spring band ($1.59 in 1942 and I think worth about $2 now) like I have on my 1947ish 2367.

But in all seriousness, do you really want a vintage speedy on a $5 Speidel??

A few members prefer the dressier Omegas.

Or maybe this is just a dig at those of us who can't afford a straight lug Speedmaster that doesn't have "Professional" on the dial.

And stock bracelet FTW

It's not, that is just sort of a running gag with a few that prefer other Omega styles, like the AT

If you like it and it does no harm to the watch then wear it. Personal opinions are just that, they can be informative and change your mind but they are just someone else's thoughts. Do what makes you happy it's your watch.

Remember, no one will even notice or comment on your watch except another watch enthusiast and they are far a few between in the real world. It only matters if it makes you happy and you like the look. If you like it, wear it.

The article doesn't note that those crappy bracelets ruin case lugs.

A JB Champion-sure, any strap-hell yeah, a Spiedel stretch bracelet?

i think that article caused many people to make an awful choice. If anyone wants one these atrocious bracelets, I have a bag full that I will send you.

How exactly do they ruin the lugs . My dad's omega has been on a speidel for 40 years nothing ruined

Take it off and marvel at the circular grooves carved underneath. The spring loaded models are lug killers. Especially on a gold case.

If so you are very fortunate...most times the spring loaded end links that expand under spring tension to fill the gap...

Will chew up the inside of the lugs around the spring bar hole in a big way...

Another example...

And it even happens on stainless steel cases...

I never recommend people use those bracelets with spring loaded end links. Ideally you don't want the end link to be moving in relation to the case, as that causes wear.

Cheers, Al

Ok that explains it
His is a little bit smaller than needed so his springs aren't hitting the lugs
There's is enough room to move it back and forth a little gap

The Speidel didn't last very long on my Speedy..I now wear it on a nato or one of several leather straps..
Still on the lookout for a '67 1039..
