This will be the one... or not?

Dear OF members

The search for my first ever vintage (Omega) watch is coming to an end. Or at least I'd like to believe so!
I have my eye on this Omega Geneve from a local seller.

The price, although I find this on the high side, is 575 EUR.
Does overpaying a small bit hurt in the long term or is this just TOO expensive for what it is?
The seller had it checked by a watch maker and has provided proof of that. He also offers a 1 year guarantee.

Any advice, remarks and/or opinions on this watch are much appreciated!

And here is the watch on another strap:

Thank you for your time!

Need much larger photos for any evaluation other than to say it is an Omega.

Hello, there was a problem with the pictures indeed. I have now replaced the pics with their higher resolution version. Thank you

From a private seller in that condition with a filthy movement I think it's overpriced by 2X.

I’ve never seen that finish on an Omega caseback.

It seems like a weird patterned polish, right?

I'm a watch noobie, but is there a screw missing in the top right? There is an empty hole there, which looks suspicious (more so when it has been serviced)

"checked by a watch maker" and serviced are two different things in my book, unless the paperwork says it was serviced and it doesn't look like it was, it will need a service, $$$.

Assuming you mean here (red arrow) this is actually where the attachment foot of the dial should be, so more troubling than a missing screw it appears that the foot of the dial may be missing (broken).

I would not even consider this one regardless of the price.

Not that it was necessary to add on this, but there are stains on the dial, above and to the right of “Genève”. Even if everything else was fine, these are neither rare nor expensive to find and are relatively easily available with clean, crisp dials. No need to spend that money on a Genève that has a dirty face.

I’d like to say though that, although judgements like the ones above might be discouraging, good examples are out there. And this is the right place to help you find them. 😀
