This one simply fell out of the sky (and onto my wrist).

Congratz.........I know Omega only allotted one pieces to Jakarta boutique. It came in early 2013 (so I am not surprised it came to your boutique in 2015) and vanished quickly. I have to hunt mine to UK with DLT222 help.

Famous words, these - -

With a little time to kill, I decided to wander over to The Candy Store (a.k.a. Omega Botique). I was just going oogle the watches for a few minutes, nothing more.

Congrats!!

👍 👍

@Mad Dog -- you might be interested to know that the Apollo-Soyuz 35th DID NOT come with the awesome box of goodies and gadgets that your classic Moonwatch came with. I found that aspect of the package to be a bit disappointing.
Don't be disappointed @Jones in LA! When you posted this thread, I immediately went into "I gotta see the box, I gotta see the box" mode...so I Googled your specific Speedy and all sorts of pics of your Speedy and the box popped up. It may not have all the goodies and gadgets but that box looks pretty amazing...very refined and professional with polished hardware! That's a HOT BOX! You don't need the goodies and gadgets anyway...all that stuff is for dudes in their 50's who behave like they're 8. 😉

Note: Just a heads-up...I wanted to order from Omega (through an AD) another Omega spaceman strap and NATO strap as back-ups (exactly like the Omega spaceman strap and NATO strap that came with the Speedy Gonzales presentation box)...and I find out that you have to order the WHOLE presentation box with ALL the goodies and gadgets (minus the Speedy Gonzales, of course)...$700! Believe me, I thought about it for a little bit...but decided against it. Anyway, if for some reason you find out that you're one of those dudes who behave like they're 8...you can order all the goodies and gadgets from Omega...or most likely find the items on the internet from private sellers.

Congratulations! ...and a great story!

I went 'meteorite' hunting myself a few months ago, too, to great success, and I love mine. Perhaps you might have already seen my 'reveal' post a few months ago, but here's a link to it anyway:

https://omegaforums.net/threads/the...meteorites-and-an-amazing-new-addition.23394/

A friend saw me wearing mine and was also 'smitten', so I helped sell his Patek, and then he bought one for himself:

They seem to get embedded onto your wrist once they fall..😲 .... as I don't think he's taken his off either!

Is there's wife so gullible as to actually believe that a watch could fall from the sky and land on your wrist? I don't think it would work with my wife! But it might be worth a try. Last time I told her I was going to buy yet another violin, I ended up not buying it. Perhaps the falling from the sky ruse might work........!

Fantastic score, congratulations. I have an educated guess on how a new rash of Speedyorites have become available recently. Many Omega AD's had this piece in the back of their vault, unsold, just sitting there over the last several years. Not on display, not even really discussed by sales staff with clients. I know one was at a Tourbillion in Orange County CA for years, unsold, not on display. Recently, Omega worldwide sales have been making changes on how their retail (boutiques) and wholesale (AD's) cross inventory, and the Speedyorites have been repatriated back to boutiques and have been moving like hot cakes. I know of 4 others being sold, NOS, in the last two months.

Contact your boutique, you may be surprised at what you find.

A very plausible explanation. Thanks for the info!

I almost feel bad for the two schmucks who passed up the opportunity. Almost. But not really. 😁

That watch deserves to be on the wrist of an Omega Forums member. 👍

Mad Dog, I have those two straps from my kit, brand new. I don't plan on using them, so I'd be happy to talk turkey on them if you're interested

What is the current retail for one? I was going to stop for this year but this has me itching to pick one up if available now.
