Do you happen to have a website/source that outlines summarizes 1680 red's value depending on versions?

value depends on too many factors...you will need to spend time learning the differences in the variations and how to tell if parts have been replaced and condition issues. The best way to do this is to sit back and watch sales. Patience is your friend. There is now quick and easy way to do this. Id suggest you do your research in TRF though, not The Omega Forum..

Vintage is a mine field. I would recommend posting pics here to ask for authentication before buying unless u buy from reputable sellers. As to value, it really depends. Condition, condition, condition. I would pay over 10k for NOS 5513 B&P from the 70's, if i can find one. Then at another forum a member was asking if he should buy a gmt beater someone offered him for 3k. Go figure.

Unfortunately no, and the values on many vintage Rolex sports models have been shifting too quickly to really peg down that way. Plus condition can make the values vary on all of the other things I mentioned tremendously.

Would you guys mind taking a look at these two? Both are mark iv. The second one has a replaced bezel I believe.

I'm no expert. I definitely like the look of the first one better. Second one has a service insert, and hands look relumed to me.

However, the first one looks like it may have been polished quite a bit, but hard to tell from one picture for me. Need more pictures of the case.

Chamfers appear to be polished away. Crown guards uneven?

What is asking price?

I would check everything out with an expert. Like, what are the first few digits of the serial between the lugs? What is the quarter and year inside the case back? Is the model number between the lugs? Get pics of those things IMO.

I love the font on the dial of the Tudor Oyster Prince. Very strong and unique.

I have recently purchased an Explorer II Red GMT Hand 40mm White Face. I have had 3 Explorer 1's including a Plexiglass Explorer. In the 80's I had a Pepsi GMT Master but my long involvement with Mountainsports means I have a passion for the heritage of the Explorer Watches. Have you considered an early Explorer II, Messner and Killy both wore them and they are available in white or black faces

I ended up getting a 1680 red sub! I'm not too keen on the look of the old explorers versus the modern ones but who knows, maybe one day I'll get into a larger variety of vintage Rolexs.

Nice take a pic of the pam once you get it! It's been my daily wearer for the past few weeks but it's not getting some rest.

I recently attended the NYC watch meet up earlier this week and got to play with a lot of vintage watches. This really peaked my curiosity for vintage pieces. I've only started collecting fairly recently with modern pieces but vintage watches have always been in the back of my mind but I don't know enough about them yet to pull the trigger. I wanted to ask some general questions that might point me in the right direction in terms of how much one should expect to pay. Once I figure out the price ranges, I can determine which watch I should focus my research on.

The three vintage Rolex's that have been on my mind are the 5513, 1680, and of course the 1680 red. Are there any up-to-date sites that have current market prices? I've begun doing some pricing research but there is so much discrepancy I was hoping someone can help narrow the field down.

So my MAIN question would be, assuming I were to get a fair conditioned watch. What is the price point high/low for each reference? Perhaps this question is too general and year, box/papers, and other factors might affect the price but feel free to give any suggestions!

5513 - ???
1680 - ???
1680 red - ???

1680 RED > 5513 > 1680

Been craving for 1680 Red for awhile. But for the money of 5513 & 1680, I rather get a DRSD.

absolutely...you really aren't allowed to own just one. You must also find a nice 5512.
