Awful lot of balancing on small beams way up in the air.

It's amazing to see all the construction needed to just do the construction, setting up the rails up the mountain, etc... pretty cool.

I'm Vietnamese, and may I ask what island this is? This seems so awesome!

Congrats on your project! I'm curious about the roof waterproofing material. It almost looks like it's one piece and they rolled it out. How are those roofs made?
Hi,
It is a bitumen type material that comes in sheets a meter long or three feet three inches with half being self adhesive and the other half nailed.

Conscious that it has been a couple of months since the last update. Things have been moving along and inching closer to a finish date. My wife likes to think two or three months where I am at four or five.

Finally got started on the front section and what will be the minimart..

Started the internals on the two double story villas..

Roofs completed..

And lining underway..

Preparing for the suspended concrete slab over the minimart..
It was a long day..

Stair way completed where it could be..

Glass going in and what a difference it adds to the feel..

Out of serene natural beauty comes chaos and out of chaos comes order. It's amazing to see the different type of construction. So much wood, and hard wood. The last couple pictures especially, dumping the big pile and framing with it. It's exhausting just looking at the photos. That's a lot of work. Pretty amazing.

Thanks Mate!
Going to Vietnam Dec/Jan for some sight seeing!
But we are actually focusing around the Bien Dong side, and also around Ho Chi Minh.

I might PM you in the future for some info and tips if that is ok?

Yesterday marked twelve months from starting construction. It has been an up and down journey with a number of unique challenges, primarily me having to communicate all in Vietnamese and trying to convince them I am not crazy for wanting it how I want it.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my sponsors Jim Beam plus a number of other bourbons, Saigon Special beer and Panadol Extra.

A quick pictorial view of the last twelve months..
